Medals are awarded when the player passes a track on certain difficulties. In BTD Battles, medals are earned through advancing on the Leaderboards. In BTD6, medals are earned when the player passes a map on certain difficulties or when participating in any weekly event such as Race Events or Odysseys.
Standard Medals are earned for a particular map on single-player mode.
Co-Op[]
Co-Op Medals are earned for a particular map on Co-Op Mode. In Pre 27.0 versions of the game, it was impossible to get the Co-Op Red CHIMPS Medal because it was impossible to quit and return to a Co-Op game. In Post 27.0 versions of the game, it was made possible to get due to the new feature of returning to a Co-Op game (If still playing).

Medals are awarded at the end of a season. The above ones are for participating in the Hall of Masters.
Medals additionally contain a Roman numeral, indicating the season that a user has earned it at. For example, a BFB Colosseum Medal from Season 15.
Bloons Adventure Time TD[]
In Bloons Adventure Time TD, medals are earned for each sub-adventure (map). Medals for Impoppable Difficulty cannot be earned without beating Extreme Difficulty.
BTD Battles Mobile[]
In BTD Battles Mobile, "Medals" are earned from reaching any of the three eligible leaderboards: Global (50,000th globally at minimum), Regional (Top 3 at minimum), and Prestige (20,000th globally at minimum).
Bloons TD 5 Flash[]
Bronze: Pass Round 50 on Easy Difficulty on any track for the first time. Awards 10.

In Bloons TD 4 Flash, the player receives medals on the highest difficulty beaten on each map. A total of 48 (?) medals can be presented, when taking into account all maps including Premium Tracks. In Bloons TD 4 Mobile, there are even more maps, so even more medals.
Bloons TD 3 introduces medals, which are earned from completing maps on a certain difficulty. A total of 8 maps in the Flash version, 48 (?) in the iOS version. The highest medal is presented on a map.
