Making Bloons go Boom since 2007.
~ Bomb Shooter in Bloons Pop!

The Bomb Shooter (known as the Bomb Tower prior to Bloons Monkey City and Cannon prior to Bloons TD 4) is a recurring monkey in the Bloons series. It debuted as one of the five towers in Bloons Tower Defense and has reappeared many times in the series since.

In its playable appearances, the Bomb Shooter, as its name suggests, launches explosives that damage Bloons in an area around the point of impact. Its explosion-type damage allows it to pop frozen Bloons and Lead Bloons, but not Black Bloons, Zebra Bloons, or DDTs.

History[]

Bloons TD series[]

Classic Bloons TD[]

Main article: Cannon
BTD1-Cannon-InGame

In-game appearance in BTD and BTD2

The Cannon debuts in Bloons Tower Defense and reappears in Bloons Tower Defense 2, Bloons Tower Defense 3, and Bloons TD iOS. Its initial appearance depicts it as a black cannon with a gray base that it pivots on. It is a tower that can damage a large number of Bloons at a time with its explosive shots, and is the only tower that can pop Bloons that have been frozen by the Ice Ball without upgrades. It has above-average range and high damage potential, but is relatively expensive, has a below-average rate of fire, and cannot pop Black Bloons. It can be upgraded to increase its range and increase the blast radius of its shots.

In-game appearance in BTD3

In Bloons Tower Defense 3 and Bloons TD iOS, it has been redesigned to resemble a military cannon or howitzer, with camouflage paint and a base with gray and white stripes. It can now be upgraded further to launch fragmentary explosives that can pop Black Bloons and launch missiles instead of bombs.

Bloons TD 4[]

The Bomb Tower reappears in Bloons TD 4, Bloons TD 4 Expansion, and Bloons TD 4 Mobile, with a new name and a new design resembling common depictions of cannons in cartoons. With the introduction of Career Rank, the Bomb Tower must be unlocked at Rank 4 before it can be used. Its final upgrade, unlocked at Rank 17, allows it to deal more damage to MOAB-Class Bloons, and the ability to launch frags has been converted to a free Premium Upgrade.

The Bomb Tower returns in Bloons TD 5, Bloons TD Battles, and Bloons Monkey City, with a similar design to its appearance in BTD4. It can now be upgraded to launch bombs that explode into more bombs and stun Bloons on impact, or destroy a MOAB-Class Bloon in a single strike with its new Activated Ability.

In Bloons TD 5, it is unlocked at Rank 7, while its tier 4 upgrades are unlocked at Rank 24. It is enhanced when using the Bombing Range, but is more expensive when using the Tack Research Center. In the mobile version and Steam version, it is one of the ten towers that can be used in Ten mode.

In Bloons TD Battles, it is unlocked by default. It is based on its appearance in BTD5, but with significant alterations to its statistics.

In Bloons Monkey City, it is known as the Bomb Shooter. Its population is increased by building Bomb Ranges, and its upgrades can be researched by building the Ordnance and Munitions Support (Flash version) or Cannon Support (mobile/PC version). Its tier 4 upgrades require building the High Intensity Explosives Workshop and Advanced Rocket Lab, respectively, in order to be researched. It is favored on Desert Terrain, but is restricted on River Terrain and Lake Terrain.
